Labels develop a life of their own once they're printed. They drop out of the slot, sail off the desk and turn up under the keyboard two days later.
This station holds the Brother P-touch P700/P750 and puts the tapes right beside it: seven bays for the narrow 9–12 mm TZe cassettes, two for 24 mm, plus a shallow tray for offcuts and reorder notes. At the front sits a removable catch tray directly under the outlet — finished labels drop in and stay there until you need them.
Left or right
The station comes mirrored. Where the printer stands isn't decided by the model but by the desk: where the USB cable comes from, which side the wall is on, where your hand goes when changing a tape.
The left-hand version was added after feedback — the question comes up more often than I expected.
The catch tray grew
The first version was shallower, and for a single sticker that was fine. But anyone printing twenty labels in a row had it full before they were done. The taller tray has been the default in both print profiles since December.
Printing
- 0.2 mm layer height, 2 wall lines, around 15 % infill
- put the Z seam at the back — keeps the front face clean
- no supports, neither for the station nor for the tray
- PLA is plenty; the part carries nothing and lives indoors
